Committed to protecting the interests of both the buyers and the sellers. All sales pass through a bonded escrow account to assure the sellers that funds are available and to assure the buyers that their money is safe should the sale not turn out at expected.
All online sellers have established businesses with storefronts or warehouses, and we provide sellers with addresses, maps to the businesses, and other contact information. If a buyer wanted to, he or she could visit the seller's business and examine the item(s) before bidding. Sellers have been verified at sign-up to hold sellers permits, business licenses, and other appropriate paperwork. Most sellers have also been verified through local Better Business Bureaus and/or chambers of commerce.
ProAuction's Code of Ethics for sellers requires full and accurate disclosure of the condition of all items for sale. While there may be several items for sale in non-working order, the seller is responsible for disclosing that fact (many professional buyers purchase items for the scrap value and do not care whether an item works or not). If an item stated to be in working order by the seller turns out to be in non-working order when the buyer receives it, the seller will be obligated to take back the item and ProAuction will refund the buyer's money.
All items are shipped from the seller directly to the buyer, and all shipments are insured.
All items for sale are required to have an image posted as well so the buyer can "see" the item before he or she purchases it. (Certain common coins and stamps are exempt.)
Many steps have been taken to help deter artificial price inflation, credit card fraud, and other unethical practices that result in dissatisfied buyers and sellers.
